| Abstrak | : | Background: Public health programs is one of the world's cutting edge in today's global health. With a variety pattern of health care, the variety is also a way to be healthy. Swamedikasi is one of them. This method of treatment itself has long been known by the people in the world. Not difficult to apply swamedikasi behavior. People who live in the village are also many who understand this behavior. As more and more types of treatment at this time, attract the attention the author to find out how people's behavior swamedikasi fever in children who specifically chose locations Area Indonesian Islamic University campus. Purpose: To know how swamedikasi behavior in society. Especially about how swamedikasi pattern in the family, community and fever in children in the village around Islamic University of Indonesian campus. Method: The method used in this study is a qualitative case study approach and the population selected by purposive sampling method. Informants in this study were housewife. Data collection was conducted by means of indepth interviews and observation. Analysis of information in the form of data collected and observations. Analysis of information in the form of data collected using qualitative analysis according to the study design. To validate the data in this study, the evaluation conducted by the method of triangulation. Results: People's behavior towards swamedikasi is to observe whether it is necessary to treat the pain itself or not. In his own family sometimes treated with drugs obtained from pharmacies and stalls. For a child with a fever given various drug paracetamol and compress. Drugs obtained directly from the pharmacy with a clear reading of drug dosage instructions. Respondents did not know the contents of medicines. Respondents obtain information on the type of drug and television advertisements from parents. Meanwhile behavior of the people mentioned that self-treatment is still a mainstay before treatment to the local medical personnel. Conclusion: In family medicine self treatment with drugs pharmacy and stalls. Fever in children will be given compress and paracetamol drugs are purchased directly at the pharmacy and stalls.
