| Abstrak | : | Background: Chronic lead exposure can cause alteration on human?s health. Long term exposure had been associated with incident of hypertension in epidemological studies. Aim: The aim of this research is to investigate the blood lead level of traffic police and its correlation to incident of hypertension. Methode: This research is using cross-sectional methode include 38 traffic polices who had duty at the streets throughout Yogyakarta. Data was collected by quisioner, blood pressure examination, and blood lead was analized by AAS (Atomic Absorbtion Spectrophotometer). Hypothesis testing was conducted by chi-square test. Result: The result showed that 13 subject (34,2%) detected lead level in their blood. 29 subject (76,3%) had hypertension. There is no significant correlation between blood lead level and hypertension. Hypertension has no significant correlation with other factor like BMI, leght of work, total exposure per day, and smoking habit (P]0,05). But there is significant correlation between hypertension and age of subject (P[0,05). Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between blood lead level and incident of hypertension.
