Abstrak : Background : Worm infection became one of the health problems in Indonesia. One of them was caused by hookworms, which spread through the soil. The prevalence of hookworm infections in Indonesia is high. These worm infections could result the decrease of health conditions, nutrition, intelligence and productivity of people thus economically caused many losses. The treatment was known today used the conventional drugs, but people still faced difficulty in obtained adequate treatment, especially remote areas. Therefore, it needed to examine the alternative medicine used for traditional plants to overcome these difficulties. Indonesia had many traditional plants that could be used as an alternative drug for worm disease. One of them was using the seed of black onain (Nigella sativa). Objectives : This study had several obajectives. First was to know whether the black onain oil (Nigella sativa) had the antihelmintic ability against the hookworm. Second was to know the LD 50 and LD 90 of the black onain oil (Nigella sativa) as the antihelmintic. Third was to know the LT 50 and LT 90 of black onain oil (Nigella sativa) with varied concentration (50%, 25%, 12,5%, and 6,25%) Methode : This study was an experimental research using 6 experimental groups. 4 experimental groups with 50%, 25%, 12,5%, and 6,25% black onain oil concentrations, 1 positive control group with 0,236% pirantel pamoat and also 1 negative control group with 0,9% NaCl in solution. The period of observation was determined by preliminary test results of a long life in the hookworm of 0,9% NaCl in solution that ware continued by the primary test with 5 times of replication in every concentration in solution. After that, the data obtained ware put into the tables and analyzed using Kruskall Wallis analysis method continued by the Mann Whtney test and Probit analysis. Result : The observation result shows that the black onain oil (Nigella sativa) had the antihelmintic effect against the hookworm. LD50 and LD90 of the black onain oil were respectively 21,7% and 58,2%. Moreover, for LT50 of the concentration of 6,25%, 12,5%, 25%, and 50% were respectively 371,98 minutes, 349,28 minutes, 239,42 minutes, dan 123,62 minutes. For LT90 of the concentration of 6,25%, 12,5%, 25%, and 50% were respectively 608,84 minutes, 504,81 minutes, 353,46 minutes, dan 241,95 minutes.
