| Abstrak | : | Background : The increasing number of people it will be followed by the increasing number of elderly. This will create a logical consequense of the potensial health problems faced by the elderly as a decline in organ function, phsycological and social change. The impaired balance and fall is one problem that often accurs in older people duo to various change that can result in head injuries, soft tissue injuries, fracture and death. By looking at the impact of falls and complication that may increase morbity and mortality it is necessary the evaluate the factors that influence the incidence of falls, one of which is an assesment of balance and walking disorders are one of the methods can be used the time up and go test. This test is a test that is often used in clinic, the assesment considered to be very objective, true, and include a reliable test. Objective : To identify association betwen the result of the Time Up and Go test with incidence of falls in elderly patient in the village of Turgorejo Harjo binangun pakem yogyakarta. Methodology : Design used in this study were categorical analytical approach cross sectional method. Result : From the result showed 37 samples that met inclusion criteria and after the TUG es found 19 elderly or balance impaired the TUG test was ] 10 where as 18 elderly has good mobility TUG test = 10. And of the history of falls obtained from 19 elderly people who have balance disorder there were 10 seniors who have good mobility there is only 1 elderly who have a history of falls. From calculation result of analysis obtained Chi square value of p 0.02. there is a significant association between tests of balance with the incidence of falls. Value Prevalensi Ratio (RP) obtained from analysisof 9.5 Chi Square test with 95% CI include 1345-66716 Coclusion : There was association between the result of of the Time Up and Go test with incidence of falls in elderly patient in the village of Turgorejo Harjo binangun pakem yogyakarta.
