Abstrak : Background: Now this formula accounts for a substantial contribution to the nutritional needs of infants. It is inevitable that the infant formula feeding instead of breast milk has become the mother of modern lifestyle. This can be seen from the demographic survey by the BKKBN (2006) conducted in 1997-2002 that breast feeding to infants in the first hours after birth decreased by 3.7% from 8%. And exclusive breastfeeding for six months decreased from 42.2% to 39.5%. While consumer milk formula increased from 10.8% to 32.5%. From these data it can be seen that the consumption of formula milk is very high, so the level of security is very important. But now the discovery of bacterial contamination in many infant formulas made the mother uneasy. The discovery Estuningsih et al. (2006) found that 13.5% of 74 samples of infant formula in Indonesia contain the bacteria Enterobacter sakazakii. Objectives:Knowing the perception of mother's milk formula containing E.sakazakii in DIY. Methods: This study is exploratory and descriptive study using a design study on the perception fenomologi mother to infant formula containing E. sakazakii focus the disclosure phenomenon or issue. The research was carried out using qualitative analysis. Results: Looking at the responses of interviewees, some authorities consider that the existing formula milk advertising is enough to give much input. Nutrient content are presented each ad and promises of benefits provided resource persons contributed to make a perception advertising formula. From the interviews found that interviewees responses or perceptions of a product of formula based on personal experience in the use of infant formula. In addition to the opinion of the nearest such as parents and husbands also influential in the formation of the informant's perception of a product formula. Judging from the daily activities of different influential part in shaping these perceptions. Conclusion: There are several factors that influence the mother's perception of Enterobacter sakazakii, among other things: personal experience in using the formula, the opinion of the people closest to, and information obtained about infant formula containing Enterobacter skazakii Keywords: perception, maternal, infant formula, Enterobacter sakazaki
