| Abstrak | : | BACKGROUND: Indonesia is the fourth country of the densest population in the world. To solve it, the government holds Family?s Planning program that one of the strategy is using long-term contraceptive, like IUD. But the program can?t reach many people whom we can look at the acceptors of IUD that still low. It can be caused by many factors, there are knowledge, information, cost, comfortable, and value in community. OBJECTIVE: Purpose of this research is trying to know many factors associated to lower selection of IUD on contraceptive?s acceptors in the working area of Kalianda Clinic, South Lampung. METHOD: This study is a descriptive analytic cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in the working area of Kalianda Clinic, South Lampung. The research subject was taken on the basis of inclusion criteria in both groups: contraceptive?s acceptors who live in the working area of Kalianda Clinic, South Lampung. The measurement is using a questionnaire. Sampling method is purposive sampling. RESULT: From research at 92 research subjects found that meet the criteria for inclusion, the factors that have a significant correlation with lower selection of IUD is knowledge (p-value = 0,020), information (p-value = 0,018), comfortable (p-value = 0,038). And the factors that do not have a significant correlation with lower selection of IUD is cost (p-value = 0,098) and value in community (p-value = 0,036). Data were statistically tested by chi-square test (SPSS 16.0 for Windows). CONCLUSIONS: There is a significant correlation each between knowledge, information, and comfortable of using IUD with lower selection of IUD on contraceptive?s acceptors in the working area of Kalianda Clinic, South Lampung.
