| Abstrak | : | Background: Autism is a pervasive development disorder in children with dilatory social interaction and communication skill and limitation of activities and interests. Generally, this disorder has an impact on parents, especially mothers and may provide maladaptive coping responses. Anxiety can be experienced by mother when she thinks about the future of their children. As a human, there are many ways to overcome their problem through spirituality and religiosity. Both of these might help the process of self adjustment to encountered stress. Purpose: To identify the relationship between religiousity and level of anxiety of mother who had child with autism in SLB Bina Anggita located in Magelang. Method: This research used an analitycal descriptive design and cross sectional study. The population in this study was all mothers who have children with autism in special schools (SLB) Anggita Magelang Bina 2012. Study sample amounted to 34 people who selected with Total Sampling method. Data analysis was performed with Chi Square test with SPSS 19.0. Result: From the 34 subjects who entered the study, 27 people found religiously obedient with a low anxiety level, 5 people found obedient with high levels of anxiety and the two men religiously nonobedient with high levels of anxiety. From the analysis of the data obtained .2 = 7.956, df = 1, p [0.01, r = -0682 Conclussion: There is a significant relationship between religiousity and anxiety level of mother who have child with autism. The greater level of religiosity then the smaller anxiety level of mothers with child who have autism in SLB Bina Anggita Magelang Keyword: Autism, Religiousity, Anxiety |
