| Abstrak | : | Background : Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death of women worldwide. According to the FK UI Jakarta in 2000, based on Pathology Indonesia data centers, Indonesia has the fifth highest incidence. In Yogyakarta, cervical cancer has the first rank that attacks women. The incidence rate of cervical cancer is increasing every year. Most of cervical cancer patients who come to the hospital are already in an advance stage. This is because of the low level of knowledge about cervical cancer early detection efforts. Subjects : An active member of Ikatan Keluarga Ibu-Ibu Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta, married, aged 30-60 years, and willing to be a respondent. Purpose : The purpose of this study is to determine wheter there is a relationship between knowledge of cervical cancer and Pap Smear effort behavior in IKI Islamic University of Indonesia Yogyakarta. In addition, this study also aims to assess knowledge of the member of IKI Islamic University of Indonesia and the behavior in an effort to Pap Smear. Methods : This study uses cross sectional approach. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The data processing in this study is by using a descriptive analytic. Result : Number of respondent in this study is 61 women. Mostly were a senior-high school 24 women (39.3%) and most aged ]50 years by 29 womens (47.5%). Almost all of the respondents have good knowledge as many as 54 womens (88.5%), but most respondents did not do a Pap Smear by 42 womens (68.9%). Based on Fisher test p = 1.000 ] 0.05, there is no relationship between knowledge of cervical cancer with Pap Smear screening efforts on women in IKI UII Yogyakarta. It is proven by the strength of a weak correlation with the value of r = 1.149. Conclusion : There is no relationship between knowledge of cervical cancer and Pap Smear screening efforts.
