| Abstrak | : | Background : Worm disease is one of health and economic problem in developed and developing country. Indonesia have tropical climate and highly soil moisture that make Soil Transmitted Helminths can well developed. The high prevalence of worm disease in Indonesia giving its effect on malnutrition, anemia, and immunodeficiency. Because of the antihelminthic have a side effect and expensive, the villagers choose the herbal substance. Papaya leaf (Carica papaya) is one of traditional antihelminthic that often use by the villagers. Objective : The objective of this study were to know the function of Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract as an antihelminhtic of Ascaridia galli, to know LC50 and LC90 of Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract as an antihelminthic, and to know LT50 and LT90 of Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract in variety concentration (100%, 50%, 25% dan 12,5%). Method : This study was experimental study using 6 groups consist of 4 group Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract with different concentration 100%, 50%, 25%, and 12,5%, 0,236% pirantel pamoat solution as a positive control and NaCl 0,9% as a negative control. The length of observation was determined by the result of 3 times replication preliminary test that used to known Ascaridia galli?s life time in NaCL 0,9% beyond the host body and followed by 4 times replication of main test in each concentration. The data that found in every group was analyzed with Probit analysis method, Kruskal Wallis, and Mann-Whitney. Result : Life time of Ascaridia galli in the preliminary test was 17 hours. The result of LC50 was 7,27% and LC90 was 23,62%. Antihelminthic ability in 25% concentration of Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract was 20,39 minutes, and in 12.5% was 28,73 minutes. LT90 in 25% concentration of Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract was 83,84 minutes, meanwhile LT90 in 12,5% concentration of Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract was 132,82 minutes. The concentration of Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract that could killed all the worms in 60 minutes were 100% dan 50%. Mann-Whitney test?s result shown a significancy level between 0,236% pirantel pamoat group, Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract concentration 100%, and 50% with Carica papaya leaf?s 70% ethanol extract concentration 25% and 12,5%.
