| Abstrak | : | Background : Students in learning process will always encounter a stressor from the environment. Medical Faculty students of Islamic University of Indonesia defined as people who are registered and studying medicine in Islamic University of Indonesia. In learning process, Medical Faculty of Islamic University of Indonesia implement the Problem Based Learning (PBL) system. PBL is a student-centered pedagogy in which student learn about a subject in the context of realistic problem of health. Problem solving need accordance with the critical appraisal, which will be needed adjustments to the students, especially new students. Students will certainly have an impact in terms of academic and non academic which will lead to a symptom of sleep disorder or insomnia, which will impact on the appearance of disorder and academic, medical and psychiatric problem which will lead to mental health disorders. Objection : To identify the correlation between insomnia with mental health status on physician at student of Medical Faculty of Islamic University of Indonesia. Method : This Research was non experimental analytic descriptive research with cross-sectional approach. Research subjects were the students of 2010 in Medical Faculty of Islamic University of Indonesia. Data retrieval used the questionnaire method. Result : The research subjects as many as 129 respondents, which data can be used as many as 99 people. Healthy student known as much as 95.1% (98 students) while the students with mental health problems as much as 1% (1 students), the number of students without insomnia was 60.2% (62 students) the number of students with insomnia was 35.9% (37 students). The results of calculations by formulas obtained chi square X2 = 0.068, df = 1 p] 0.05, Cc = 0.03 so Ho rejected Ha accepted.
