Abstrak : Background: Senile cataract continues to be the main cause of visual impairment and blindness in the world. In Indonesia, the prevalens of cataracts is very high and one of the largest causes of blindness, especially in elderly. Every year in Padas Primary Healthcare cataract surgery is conducted with a high number of patients. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the profiles of senile mature cataract patients who had mass cataract surgery in Padas Primary Heathcare period 1st January 2009-31st December 2010. Methods: The study design was a descriptive design by observing the medical records of all senile matur cataract patients in Padas Primary Healthcare from 1st January 2009-31st December 2010. Results: Distribution of senile mature cataracts patients in Padas Primary Healthcare from 1st January 2009-31st December 2010 who had cataract surgery are 220 people. In 2009 113 patients (56.5% ), in 2010 107 patients (53.5%). The prevalence of senile mature cataracts in people aged 45 to 59 years was 76 patients (34.6%), in people aged 60 to 74 years was 116 patients (52.7%), and in people age 75-90 was 28 patients (12.7%).From 220 patients, man was 118 patients (53.6%), woman 102 patients (46.4%). Farmer 82 patients (37.3%), abstain 62 patients (28.2%), labourer 42 patients (19.1%), and related work 34 patients (15.4%). Patients with diabetes mellitus 15 patients (6.8%), and patients without diabetes mellitus 205 patients (93,2%). Patients with hipertension 100 patients (45.5%), and without hipertention 120 patients (54.5%). Patients with glaucoma 1 patient (0.45%), patients with uveitis 1 patient (0.45%), and patients without intraoculer disease 118 patients (99.10%). Conclution: The prevalence of senile mature cataract more common in patients aged 60-74 years. Based on gender of patients, cataracts are more commont in male patients than female. Farmer was the work of most of the types of cataract patients. There were 15 cataract patients with a history of diabetes melitus and 100 patients with a history of hypertension. Of all cataract patients there were 2 patients who had a history of intraocular disease, one patient had a history of glaucoma and one man had a history of uveitis.
