| Abstrak | : | Background: The organization is an excellent place to growth student?s soft skills. Soft skills are skills related to interpersonal skills this such as communication skills. Medical students are has quired to master in communication skills that will be useful in the practice of medicine to give a good feed back to the patient. Objective: To determine the correlation between communication skills in tutorial discussions with student?s participation in organization in Medical Faculty of Islamic University of Indonesia Year 2009. Methods: This research was conducted using quantitative method. The sampling method was used total sampling. Data was analysed using Spearman rank correlation test because data has not normal distribution. Subjects in the study was a student who active in organization. Total subject was 39 people. Collected data by using the log book for 2 weeks to find student?s participation in organization and using the score of communication during tutorial. Results: Communication skills in tutorial discussions and student?s participation in organization has negative correlation with the value of correlation r = -0.20 and a significance value of p = 0.905. It shows that there is no significant correlation between communication skills in tutorial discussions with student?s participation in organization in the Medical Faculty of Islamic University of Indonesia Year 2009 Conclusion: There is no significant correlation between communication skills in tutorial discussion and student?s participation in organization in Medical Faculty of Islamic University of Indonesia Year 2009 Key word : communication skill, student?participation in organization |
