| Abstrak | : | Background : The best predictor to determine of physical work capacity is the determination of maximal O2 uptake volume (O2max) per minute that can be used by someone to oxidize the molecules of nutrients to produce energy. Maximal O2 uptake (O2max) can be measured in two ways: by direct measurement and indirect measurement of non-exercise model. The direct measurement of O2max is the most accurate way to assess the maximum oxygen uptake, but is quite expensive while the indirect measurement of non-exercise model (non-exercise) in the form of equation was developed to assess maximal oxygen uptake. Objective : The purpose of this study was to determine maximal oxygen uptake ratio (O2max) between the University of Houston with a non exercise formula Astrand method. Method : This study uses cross-sectional study design. The subjects in this study are volunteer medical students Yogyakarta UII of 15 people with an age range 20-25 years, and fills data Avtivity Physical Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. Result : Independent test data analysis with T-test showed no difference between the non exercise O2max University of Houston BMI Equation for Men by Astrand method of training (p] 0.05). Conclusion : Can be concluded there was no significant difference in the calculation of the value of O2max between the non exercise O2max University of Houston BMI Equation for Men and Astrand training methods shown by the significance of .077 (p] 0.05).
