| Abstrak | : | Background : The indicator who used in assessing the state of obstetric care was the maternal mortality rate (MMR). Based on the result of IDHS?survey (2007) that the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia declined to 228 from each 100.000 live births, but the figure was still the highest in Asia. According to WHO, one of the causes of maternal death was an abortion. Incidence of abortion will continue to increase each year, 80% incidence of abortions occurred in the first trimester of pregnancy and decreased with increasing gestational age. There were several risk factors for the incidence of abortion, maternal age, number of parity and a history of previous abortion. Objective : To determine the effect of risk factors of maternal age, parity and history of abortion on the incidence of abortion in the Puskesmas Padas at Ngawi District Year 2010. Method : The research was observational analytic study using a retrospective method of secondary data, namely the medical records of patients with cross sectional design. Data analyzed using Chi Square test and logistic regression. Result : Risk factors for maternal age had a significant correlation with the incidence of abortion with the value of OR = 3.338; CI 95% (1,976-7,434); p = 0.001. Number of parity had no statistically significant correlation with the incidence of abortion with OR = 0.373; CI 95% (0,181-0,769); p = 0.073 (p =] 0.05). History of previous miscarriage had significant correlation with the incidence of abortion with OR = 0.168; CI 95% (0,069-0,411); p = 0.003. Conclusion: Risk factors of maternal age and previous history of abortion had a statistically significant correlation with the incidence of abortion and number of parity had no statistically significant correlation with the incidence of abortion.
