| Abstrak | : | Background: The incidence of dysmenorrhea in the world is very large. On average more than 50% of women in every country experiencing dysmenorrhea. While in Indonesia the figure is estimated 55% of them experienced severe symptom that caused them not able to do any activity and this will degrade the quality of life in each individual. Stress can cause the sensation of the nerves of the hip and lower back muscles which can cause dysmenorrhoea Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the role of stress level on the incidence of dysmenorrhea in female students of Indonesian Islamic University School of Medicine class of 2009 Methods: This study uses a survey method with the approach used in this study is a cross sectional approach. This study population is around students of 2009 class of FK UII, and samples taken as many as 30 people. The results of this study are presented in tabular form each variable. Results: There are 17 respondents (56.7%) experienced moderate stress, 19 people (63.3%) had moderate dysmenorrhoea, 16 (53.3%) who experienced menarche at the age between 11-13 years old, 5 people (16 , 7%) were obese. There is a positive role of stress level on the incidence of dysmenorrhea in female students of Islamic University of Indonesia Faculty of Medicine, which means that the lower level of stress faced by students, the lower the incidence of dysmenorrhea experienced. Conclusion: Among the risk factors examined in this study, stress level factors provide the greatest role of his influence on the incidence of dysmenorrhoea when compared to the factor of obesity and age of menarche Keywords: Stress, dysmenorrhea, obesity, age of menarche |
