| Abstrak | : | Background: One of the destructive behavior in the current young generation is smoking behavior because smoking cigarettes is bad for health. Decline in health status due to the impact of smoking can increase the chances of developing various types of diseases that can degrade the quality of Indonesian human resources. Objective: To find out the smoking behavior among students class 2 in SMAN 1 Karanganyar Kebumen. Methods: The method used in this research was a case study with the qualitative approach. Sampling using purpose sampling with subjects is students class 2 in SMAN 1 Karanganyar Kebumen. Data was collected by Focus Group Discussion (FGD), in-depth interviews, and observation. Result: Social environment such as a friend directly affect smoking behavior of the students class 2 in SMAN 1 Karanganyar Kebumen. The lack of supervision and attention to children, and smoking habits on family members is very affect the behavior of smoking. Less optimal application of regulations to smoking bans in school and condition of some teachers and staff who smoke are very affect the behavior smoking to students. The students who smoke still comply with regulations prohibited smoking in public places. The purpose of the students smoke is to eliminate stress. Conclusion: Social environment such as friends, family, school, and the other public places, directly and indirectly affect smoking behavior of the students class 2 in SMAN 1 Karanganyar Kebumen.
