| Abstrak | : | Nowadays, the orientation of Pharmacy services has shifted from drug to patient, which is referred to Pharmaceutical Care. As a consequence of the orientation changes, pharmacists are required to improve the knowledge, skills and change behavior in order to be able to interact directly with patients. The pharmacist must be prepared to provide IEC to patients. Hypertension is now a global problem due to the increasing prevalence of it. The purpose of this study was to determine what IEC provided by pharmacists to patients with hypertension, what resources are used by the pharmacist in providing IEC and what obstacles that occur in giving IEC by pharmacists in Pharmacists in Depok to patients with hypertension. This study is a descriptive studieswith cross sectional method conducted in 55 pharmacists in Depok. The samples in this study are taken based on purposive sampling method by giving questionnaires to APA or APING who have met the criteria. The data obtained were processed using statistic test and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that, there are still many pharmacists as respondents of 45 respondents who do not give a complete IEC to patients with hypertension. Resources by MIMS / ISO are widely used and seminars / workshop are forums which are followed often and the barriers that often happens is that the barriers that arise from the patient.
