| Abstrak | : | The research of laundry waste water treatment has been done by using rice husk activated carbon (RHAC) powder. The research was doing by activating rice at 400 0C in the furnace. Before treatment, laundry waste water was analyzed its COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) value. Laundry waste water 100 mL was mixed by rice husk activated carbon (RHAC) powder 2 gram, then stirred and filtered. The COD value of its filtration was analyzed by using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. The performance of RHAC can be seen at the COD?s reduction before and after preparation. The COD value of laundry waste water was also evaluated with the variation of time; 5 minutes, 15 minutes, and 30 minutes, and with the variation of RHAC weigh; 2 gram, 5 gram, and 7 gram. The result of this research show that COD value of laundry waste water is 2795 ppm and 4290 ppm. The percentage of COD?s reduction at time variation with stirring process on 30 minutes is 79,394%. Meanwhile, the best percentage of COD?s reduction at weigh variation on 7 gram is 90,197%. Keywords: laundry waste water, rice husk, activated carbon powder, COD |
