| Abstrak | : | Chronic Aspecific Respiratory Affection is a respiratory diseases include bronchi obstruction, udema and thick hypersecretion. One of the treatment is mucolityc agent. It can dilute the thick hypersecretion, so it will be easy to sent down. Red roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) have been used to manage cough empiricalwise. It needs an experiment to support the use of red roselle as mucolytic agent. Mucolityc study in vitro was done using the cow intestine mucosa. The roselle dust was extracted using 70% ethanol. The experiment consist of three extract groups contain 80% mucus in buffer phospat pH 7, 1% tween 80, and 0,1% b/b, 0,2%b/b, and 0,4% b/b extract. Control groub consist of one normal control contain 80% mucus in buffer phospat pH 7, one negatif control contain 80% mucus in buffer phospat pH 7 and 1% tween 80, and positif control contain 80% mucus in buffer phospat pH 7, 1% tween 80, and 0,1% acetylcysteine. Viscocity was measured by brookfield viscometer. Mucolytic activity in 0,1% b/b, 0,2% b/b, and 0,4% b/b concentrations are 24,54%, 31,06%, and 37,46%. The results has been analyzed using one way anava with 95% reliability and post hoc test. It was got significant value between extract groubs with positif control.
