Abstrak : Cancer is a disease that form in a long term and progress in different stages. The spread of cancer cells in the blood vessels is an angiogenesis. Angiogenesis was played an important role in the spread of cancer cells involving growth, differentiation and migration of endothelial cells in the formation of new blood vessels. Inhibition of angiogenesis is a new therapy in the treatment of cancer. Ethanolic extract of Manihot glaziovii tuber contain linamarin that can be used as an anti cancer. This study aimed to determine the antiangiogenesis activity of ethanolic extract from Manihot glaziovii tuber in Chorio allantoic membrane (CAM) of chicken embryos induced by bFGF (basic Fibroblast Growth Factor). The linamarase enzyme was inactivated during extraction by maintaining the temperature at 25?C and pH 7-8 to inhibit the formation of cyanide. The antiangiogenesis activity were evaluated by CAM which induced by bFGF with a control group were bFGF + DMSO + paper disc and treatment group with the dose of 25 ?l/ml, 50 ?l/ml and 75 ?l/ml. The results of an antiangiogenesis activity of ethanolic extract of Manihot glaziovii tubers were analyzed using ANOVA with a 95% confidence level. Based on this research, the inhibition of angiogenesis with dose of 25 ?l/ml, 50 ?l/ml and 75 ?l/ml had value of 57,46 ? 6,38%, 55,22 ? 6,85% and 58,58 ? 8,99%. In conclusion, ethanolic extract Manihot glaziovii tuber had an antiangiogenesis effect on the CAM of chicken embryos induced by bFGF and the highest inhibition of angiogenesis at dose 75 ?l/ml.
