Abstrak : Lumbricus rubellus is one of the earth worms that has potential as antithrombtic (thrombolytic). This worm contains protease enzymes that act as fibrinolytic, called lumbrokinase. Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis) is used as drug to destruct kidney stones because it has diuresis effect. Based on the previous research, it was found that the combination of earth worms and tempuyung has fibrinolytic activity which could be potential for atherosclerosis therapy. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a formulation of the extract tempuyung and earth worm that can be accepted by society. The aims of this study were to make and to obtain optimum formula from extracts of tempuyung and Lumbricus rubellus, also to evaluate the influence of PVP with various concentrations on the physical properties of tablet. Tempuyung was extracted by maceration using ethanol 70%, and earth worm powder that has been fully characterization was used for this study. Tablets which were combination of tempuyung extract and earth worm powder were prepared by wet granulation method with concentration of PVP 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%. Then, the evaluation of weight uniformity, hardness, friability, and disintegration time of the tablets were undertaken to determine the physical properties of tablets. The result showed that increasing concentration of PVP would increased the hardness, friability, and disintegration of tablets. Based on SLD, the formulation with 0mg PVP and 155mg Lactose showed the optimal tablet physical properties. Key words : Tablet, Earth worms, Tempuyung, PVP, Simplex lattice design (SLD)
