Abstrak : Red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) is one of the family cactaceae which has active compound such as flavonoid, triterpenoid, alkaloid, and saponin. Some flavonoids from its plants is known has antioxidants effect. Based on these fact, the antioxidant test of red dragon conducted by 2-2-diphenyl-1-picrylhIdrazyl (DPPH) method. Effective concentration (EC50) calculated using linier similarity regression between % DPPH radical scavenging and concentration of ethanol extract (1%, 3% and 5 %). Determination of total flavonoid obtained by spectrophotometry method with rutin as curve standard. EC50 for ethanol extract red dragon fruit was 3,844 % or 38,44 mg/ml, with the 30,25 % flavonoid content. Keywords : Red dragon fruit, antioxidant, DPPH, EC50
