Abstrak : This research aimedto comparethe effectiviness of heavy metals absorption by Electro-Assisted Phytoremediation (EAPR) and phytoremediation using waterhyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes). Lead (Pb) and cupper (Cu)were used in this research as a heavy metal modelwhich were absorbed for 7 days. The application of designed pot cathode in the 2D of electrode configuration was also evaluased for EAPR process. The concentrations of Pb and Cu in the waterhyacinth were examined by AAS-flame. Mean while, the chlorofil concentration was determined by UV-Visible spectrophotometry.The results showed that theabsorption of Pb and Cu by waterhyacinth on EAPR method was 32% for Pb and 58% for Cu, while on the phytoremediation method was 49% for Pb and 39% for Cu. Those result has conculaded the EAPR method was more effective to remidiate of Pb and Cu by water hyacinth compared with phytoremediation process.
