| Abstrak | : | Urinary tract infection is second infection after upper respiratory tract infection that usually happened in 9,3 % female and 2,5-11 % male. Therapy that given to urinary tract infection patient is empiric antibiotic for initial treatment that can reduce or get rid symptoms of infection and prevent the relapse. The purpose of this research was determine antibiotic used including kind, dose, quantity, frequence and the succesfull of antibiotic therapy for patient with urinary tract infection in primary health center Kalibawang Kulon Progo. The research was done by prospective descriptive cross-sectional study from January to March with 33 patients. The data were collected by using medical record and interviewing. The result showed that UTI consist of cystitis and pyelonephritis. Antibiotic therapy for cystitis was cotrimoxazole 480 mg (51,51 %) and ciprofloxacine 500 mg (39,39 %) while the pyelonephritis were cotrimoxazole 480 mg (3,03 %) and ciprofloxacine 500 mg (6,06 %). All of the antibiotics were given twice a day for 5 days. The successful empirical therapy was showed by disappearance symptoms of infection.
