One of the disturbing skin disease that is ulcer disease . The disease is caused by infection of gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus Aureus . Staphylococcus aureus is the most pathogenic bacteria infect humans who live as a saprophyte in the gastrointestinal membranes and human skin . One of the current antibacterial that has been widely investigated the antibacterial properties of essential oils of basil leaves . Basil essential oil has a fairly high antibacterial activity . This study showed that the oil content of basil in a liquid bath soap can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria . The addition of 0.25 mL of basil oil into 10 mL shower gel showed good activity that is with an average diameter of 7.8 mm inhibition . The highest activity was shown by basil oil 0.75 mL in 10 mL of liquid soap , which with an average diameter of 9.8 mm inhibition. But, the formulation which like to the responden is the liquid soap with addition of basil oil 0,5 mL into 10 mL the shower gel and the average diameter of 8,3 mm inhibition. \parKeywords: Basil Oil, Liquid Soap, Staphylococcus aureus, Antibacterial \par} |
