Abstrak : Chemical Plant Design Project of Ethylene Oxide from Ethylene and Air with Capacity 20,000 ton/year is meant to fulfilling requirement Ethylene Oxide in Indonesia. The plant is planed to build at Kawasan Industrial Estate Cilegon (KIEC), Banten. Raw material Ethylene obtained from PT. Chandra Asri Petrochemical Center, Cilegon. Syntesis of Ethylen Oxide conducted with catalitic oxidation of Ethylene. In this case, Ethylene is reaction with air using silver catalysts. This reaction taking place in Fixed Bed Multitube Reactor that operate at themperature 270?C and pressure 25.66 atm, using saturated water for cooled. Convertion per pass at Ethylene Oxide forming is 80.9 % and 82.6 % selectivity. Reactor product sparated in water Absorber Column. Buttom product of absorber column entered at destilation column. While the most of water absorber?s top product will be purged and partly recycled back to the reactor. Unit supporting for support the process consist of Supply and Processing unit of water, Steam Supply unit, Electricity Supply unit, Fuel Supply unit, and Air Compress unit. This plant is planed in form of Perseroan Terbatas (PT) with line and staff organization system that lead by Managing Director. Working system that used at this plant is shift and non shift working system. From an economic shows that Percentage of Return on Investment (ROI) before tax is 85% while after tax is 42%. Pay Out Time (POT) before tax is 1.06 years while after tax is 1.9 years. The value of Break Even Point (BEP) for about 42.72%, while Shut Down Point (SDP) 34.6%. With profit before tax is US$ 2.338.389,01 while profit after tax is US$ 1,169,194.51 from an economic evaluation result, it can concluded that Ethylene Oxide plant visible to be built.
