Abstrak : Orchad Panggang, Wukirsari, Cangkringan, Sleman Yogyakarta represent one of Orchad is located in region of hillside Merapi. Since the eruption of Mountain Merapi in the past year 2010 brought so wide effects on nearly all of life especially for the people who live on the slopes and on the foot of the mountain. One of the effect after the erupted of Merapi until now still perceived the community is difficulty to get the clean water. The facts indicate that the springs and the dry streams or covered with material, dry wells or have the water but can be used because the colour of the water is brownish yellow. Effect of generated from content of high Fe and Mn in water for example can generate the odor and taste the metal at the water and also can generate the stain of clothes. High of concentration of iron and manganese in ground water, water is needed to making an alternative treatment and an alternative treatment is aerfil reactor. Aerfil reactor is a reactor with combination from aeration process and filtration process. The purpose of this research is to know that aerfil reactor can decreasing the concentration of iron, manganese, and turbidity in ground water. And also to know the efficiency the aerfil reactor to decreasing the paramenters. The methods of this research is drain the ground water to the branced pipe and perforated so the water will come out through the holes of tray aeration and it comes in contact with the air (aeration). In the first tray filled with the coconut fiber, the second tray filled with the sand and the third tray filled the gravel. The time variation of flux 0 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes,120 minutes. From the research obtained for the parameters of the iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and turbidity. From the research to the parameters of iron (Fe) from the inlet until the 90 minutes which decreased from 0,824 mg/L to 0,676 mg/L or the efficiency is 18,02%. The minutes to 120 has increased the concentration to become 0,690 mg/L. For the parameters of the manganese (Mn) from the inlet until the 90 minutes which decreased from 0,519 mg/L to 0,357 mg/L or the efficiency is 31,30%. The minutes to 120 has increased the concentration to become 0,367 mg/L. For the parameters of the turbidity from the inlet until the 120 minutes decreased from 0,433 mg/L to 0,278 mg/L or from 3,2 NTU to 2,09 NTU. For the iron and the manganese is obtained not meet a demand quality standards. Provosion of the activated carbon, zeolit, or silica sand can to reduce the iron (Fe) content and manganese (Mn) content in the water.
