Abstrak | : | Along with the development and growth, Yogyakarta always brings improvements and changes to improve facilities and infrastructures. One of them is the existence of Kentungan Signalized Intersection. There are still points of congestion from all the leg which lead to long queues of vehicle so that it is necessary to seek solutions to overcome. To resolve this problem, it needs a research to know the performance of Kentungan intersection based on Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI) 1997. If the result is not qualified, then the precise alternative is sought to resolve this problem based on MKJI 1997, TRRL (Transport Road Research Laboratory) 1984, and RDG (Roundabout Design Guidelines (State Of Maryland)) 1995. This research used descriptive method. It told about problem solving based on an available data. The data was taken by nonprobability sampling. The initial phase was to conduct a survey of geometric, environmental and traffic volume intersections. After the data were obtained, performance of Kentungan intersection was analyzed based on MKJI 1997. If the result was not qualified, then the alternative were sought to resolve this problem based on MKJI 1997, TRRL 1984, and RDG 1995. From this result of alternative, MKJI 1997 was chosen to analyzed Kentungan intersection in 2016. The result of existing condition show that Kentungan intersection performance does not meet MKJI 1997 criteria. The highest of degree of saturation is 1,84, the average of capacity is 468 smp/h, and average delay is 611,64 s/smp. Kentungan intersection performance can be repaired by changing the intersection to be roundabout and it?s based on MKJI 1997, TRRL (Transport Road Research Laboratory) 1984, and RDG (Roundabout Design Guidelines (State Of Maryland)) 1995. MKJI 1997 is the selected alternative to analyze the roundabout. This alternative produces roundabout degree of saturation is 0,75, average of capacity 5921 smp/h, and average delay of roundabout is 11,67 s/smp. The analysis of Kentungan roundabout in 2016 that based on MKJI 1997 method produce roundabout degree of saturation is 0,74, average of capacity 8370 smp/h, and average delay of roundabout is 13,72 s/smp.
