| Abstrak | : | This study was conducted to analyze the potential carrying capacity of water for one year, by comparing the total amount of water needs with the availability of water. The study was conducted in three districts, located in Bantul district which includes territory KPY (Urban Region of Yogyakarta). three sub-district it is the sub-district Banguntapan, sub-district Sewon and sub-district Kasihan. The research method used is the analysis of data processing. Methods of research conducted with secondary data processing with related agencies and observations in the field data as data support. Potential carrying capacity of water in three districts are known based on calculation of water requirements of the data processing based on data obtained from the BPS Yogyakarta in (2009-2010) compared with the potential availability of water from The Water Resources data include: meteorologist water, ground water and springs. The study also refers to related research methods that have been done by other researchers. The results showed that in three districts has a potential water availability of 159 613 037 m3/year, while the requirement is 116 809 344 m3/year. Valuable water resource carrying capacity of 4.57, meaning that is still capable of supporting human life in all its activities, including on socio-economic growth. Carrying capacity is very inadequate to the needs of both water Population Domestic and Non Domestic. Projected availability of water is able to meet the water needs for the next few years with the projections as follows: sub-district Bangutapan: 225 years, sub-district Kasihan: 149 years, sub-district Sewon: 559 years.
