| Abstrak | : | Leachet from landfill have a variety of toxic that is harmfull to human and environment, leachet production are affected by water from outside, either new solid waste or old solid waste. Not only contained organic pollutants but also contained inorganic pollutants in the leachate. Various type of heavy metals is generally contained in the leachate from landfill. Heavy metals are predominantly found in the leachate is Pd nd Cd. Purpose of this research is to know the concentration of heavy metal (Pb and Cd) contained in leachate based on variations of waste ages and to know the change in concentration of heavy metals (Pb and Cd) contained in leachate based on a period of time. In this research using instrument landfill column, and municipal solid waste is derived from landfill Piyungan. Starts from testing of physical characteristics and compositions of waste. Age variations of solid waste in this research is [ 1 year, 1 ? 2 years, 2 ? 5 years, ] 5 years. The results from this research shows the highest concentrations of heavy metals (Pb = 0,668 mg/l dan Cd = 0,340 mg/l) occured during the early period of this research where the concentrtions is graduallty decreased and stable for waste ages beyond 1 ? 2 years Keyword : Leachate, landfill column, Pb and Cd. |
