| Abstrak | : | Generally, big cities in Indonesia manage their waste by using a land disposal methods (landfilling) or in Indonesia we call it (TPA). TPA produces leachate, whice contains hazardous materials for the environment. The purpose of this research is to know about influence of waste age on leachate quality (BOD, COD, TSS, pH, ). This research uses a separate column landfills as landfills original simulation to determine the effect of waste age on value pH, concentrations of BOD, COD, and TSS in urban waste leachate. In addition, this research uses four variation of waste age for each column, there is [1 years, 1-2 years, 2-5 years, and ]5 years. Leachate sample is taken once a week, with measurement method using a pH meter, DO meter, AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy), Titration, Gravimetri. Result of this research showed fluktuatif consentration for every test based on the differences of waste age. And based on periode of sample taken, showed the concentrations more decreased. So, it concluded the increase of waste age impacted to leachet quality ( concentrations of BOD, COD, TSS ,and pH value are decreased.) Keywords: Age waste, pH, BOD, COD, and TSS. |
