Abstrak : Prices of fuel was increased, as an alternative then research do on the potential of rubber waste biomass (tatal) or wood chips as an alternative energy source that is by making bio briquette . Tatal is a mixture of sand and wood chips are usually carried when farmer tapping the rubber. Rubber waste (tatal) is derived from the PT. Dharma Jaya Kalimantan, South Kalimantan. Newspaper pulp is used as an adhesive. In this study pyrolysis process to get the charcoal to be made into briquettes. Pyrolysis process carried out during the 5 hour with a temperature of 500 ? C. But before doing pyrolysis process first tested against raw material briquettes proximate rubber waste (shavings) and proximate test of adhesive pulp newspapers. The parameters tested in this study is the ash content, volatile matter and combustion rate, with four variations of the ratio 1:7 charcoal and glue. 1:9, 1:11, and 1:13. Of the test have been done on these parameters obtained for the ash content value is 32.5471% -35.4764%, to levels of volatile matter combustion rate of 20.6454 to 21.5403% and 0.048 to 0.068. When compared with the standard of SNI 01-6235-2000 charcoal briquettes for ash content and volatille matter not meet these standards. But for the value of volatile matter when compared with standard charcoal briquettes made in Japan still meet the standards. If the economy is analyzed briquettes rubber waste (shavings) eligible to run, while the manufacture of briquettes from environmental analysis chips (waste rubber) have an advantage in environments, where the raw material used is waste.
