| Abstrak | : | Music is the universal language. Through music, anyone can deliver a range of messages of love, friendship, to preach. Preaching today can not only be done by the preachers in the mosques, but it can be done in many ways and many places. A lot of media that can be used today as a media propaganda such as television, newspapers, magazines, books and the internet. Background on this, researchers took Title: Representation of Religion in the Book Lyrics and Video Clips Maher Zain: Semiotics Analysis About Book Religion in Song and Video Clips Maher Zain in Islamic Context. There is a problem that must be answered: How does the representation of religious messages in the lyrics and video clips Maher Zain terms of semiotic analysis? This study aims to provide an explanation of the representation of religious messages in the lyrics and video clips Maher Zain. The method used is the Semiotics of thought Roland Barthes, divide the analysis into two levels, namely, denotation defines the relationship between signifier and signified in the sign and the sign of the referennya in external reality. Connotations interpreted as meaning an aspect or group of words that are based on feelings or thoughts arising or incurred in the speaker (writer) and listener (reader). This research resulted in four discoveries.
